Pembrokeshire Tourism – Behind the Scenes

First published Thursday, March 27, 2014

Our members undoubtedly know a bit about Pembrokeshire Tourism, who we are, what we do, why we do it and so on, and increasingly that information is spreading further thanks to some of the recent press coverage and campaigns we have undertaken.

Many know Pembrokeshire Tourism predominantly through the office team – myself, Liz, Rachael, Dennis, Gemma and Carol (take a look on the “Meet the Team” page if you’re not sure who’s who!) and this team is very much the first port of call for our members, ready to take your call, answer your questions, find the information you need and put you in touch with other members. Of course we’re also busy arranging training courses, networking opportunities, events and trade days to further enhance your local knowledge and boost your skills.

However another element of our role is to be representative voice for the industry. Our members form a crucial part of this, which is why we value your feedback so highly. To support the office team we also have a Board of Directors, who again are representative of the various sectors of the industry.
Our Directors are all voluntary. Each of them is a member with Pembrokeshire Tourism, and also runs their own business within the industry, or has an involvement with significant parts of the sector. Over the next few months we will shine a spotlight on each of them in turn, and give you an opportunity to find out more about who they are and what they do, but to get you started here’s the Pembrokeshire Tourism “Who’s Who” guide to our Directors.

Jane Rees Baynes     Self Catering Director and Chair of the Board (Elm Grove Country House)
Jim Canton      Caravan and Camping Director (Nolton Bay Caravan Park)

James Parkin      General Director (Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority)
David Pryse Lloyd      General Director (Panteg Old Farmhouse)

As you can see there is wealth of knowledge and experience on the Board of Pembrokeshire Tourism, and we encourage our members to take advantage of this wherever possible. Keep watching over the coming weeks and months as we profile each Director, but in the meantime if you want to know more or have a question you wish to ask of a particular member of the Board, please do let us know.
